The River Region Medical Center located in Vicksburg, Mississippi is a 391,196 square foot, seven-story replacement hospital.Ivey Mechanical Company installed the plumbing, HVAC, medical gas piping, and owner furnished hospital equipment. The materials installed included 508,000 pounds of ductwork and 33,000 feet of HVAC piping. Three 850 ton centrifugal chillers, three 1700 GPM cooling towers, and nine air handling units were installed to cool the medical facility.The new structure houses an ER department (2 trauma units, 3 cardiac care units,) radiology, intensive care unit (16 beds,) cardiology department (3 cath/angio labs,) OR department (9 suites,) labor and delivery (2 c-section suites, 8 delivery rooms,) and a patient tower (163 beds.) The medical center also contains a two-story medical office building.Patients were transferred to the new facility in February 2002.
