Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) hosts a myriad of conventions, trade shows, and corporate events each year.Ivey Mechanical Company began construction on the Phase IV expansion of the GWCC in September 2000. Ivey’s mechanical services business unit installed heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing equipment for the expansion, which added 420,000 square feet of exhibit space, 29 more meeting rooms, and an additional 27,000 square-foot ballroom. The Phase IV expansion included a single building convention center which is an addition to the existing four story facility and a new 5,500 ton Central Plant.Upon completion of the Phase IV expansion, the facility has 105 meeting rooms, representing 305,090 square feet of meeting room space. The total square footage of the facility will total 1,400,000 square feet.
